The Fullmetal Edition is complete in 18 hardcover volumes from VIZ Media. It collects the entire original 27-volume story in larger-format hardcovers with color pages and corrected translation — the premium way to own FMA.
VIZ released these slowly (roughly quarterly) and several volumes had small printings, so mid-run hardcovers can be genuinely hard to find at cover price. Complete 1–18 sets trade well above the original ~$360 combined cover price when out-of-print volumes are involved.
Check dust jackets carefully — these are collected as shelf pieces, and a torn or missing jacket on even one volume drags the whole set. Sets described with jacket condition volume-by-volume are the ones worth trusting.
